Being a member of a family is wonderful, but it can also be like trying to navigate a minefield at times. No family is perfect, but every family can make the effort to be more supportive of one another, especially when one family member is struggling with mental health issues. Jacie’s goal with family therapy is to creatively collaborate with all family members to improve communication and transform relationships in meaningful ways to inspire a more hopeful and helpful family environment.
Is your child having difficulty at home or school due to behavioral outbursts, changes in mood or difficulty getting along with others? Adolescents, or teens, sometimes have emotions that seem out of control or behaviors that disrupt their well-being. Teens begin to become more independent and try out new behaviors and roles that can cause problems. at home and/or at school. Teens can also experience added pressure during high school, whether it’s stressing about getting good grades or maneuvering through social situations. All of this can lead to anxiety or depression, among other things. Jacie enjoys working with teens to identify their problems and develop solutions that work for them, while also helping teens and their families learn how to navigate strained parent-teen relationships with better communication strategies.
Life is hard enough sometimes without adding mental health issues or major life-changing events into the mix. Transitions can be difficult for everyone and change is hard. For some of us, this can lead to anxiety, depression, and overwhelming stress. Whether you are dealing with a transition from school to the “real world”, struggling with the end of a relationship, or starting something new, having someone to talk to throughout these transitions can be very beneficial. Jacie can help you explore your triggers and symptoms, process your feelings, and help you feel more like your "normal" self again.
